Don Arnold is a freelance photographer based in Sydney, with interests in commercial, wedding and editorial work.
Don's editorial work is undertaken exclusively through Getty Images, who he joined in 2006. Covering news, sport and entertainment media, with an emphasis on entertainment, he has undertaken assignments all around Australia, and for many years has been a central part of the official Getty Images crew acting as house photographers for Australian Fashion Week, David Jones, the VRC Spring Carnival, MTV, the Aria Awards and many others.
A relative latecomer to the industry, Don fell into photography when a freak accident at work simultaneously finished his cricket career, but inspired him to start tinkering with his fathers old and neglected SLR camera kit. Despite never handling such an implement or showing any previous interest, he was soon to discover the joys and rewards derived from creativity, problem solving and independent thought. Much of course has changed, although fifteen years later he still feels truly blessed to work in an industry where deployment of the aforementioned virtues is the over-riding constant in the love he has for his work, and any recognition that may come from it.
Outside of work, Don is a compulsive debater on all facets related to the human condition and spends many hours indulging this past time with any person similarly inclined.
