Tim Whitby shares his favourite alternative view picture from London Fashion Week.

This picture was shot from the opposite wing backstage at the Ones to Watch show at Freemasons Hall. The model was waiting to walk as part of a rehearsal.  It is one of my favourite images from this season. The blocks of black and white demand you take a second look and the model's defined features draw you in for a closer inspection.

I feel the picture works partly because of the exact line which has been drawn along the face of the model, a fraction further out or more obscured may have left the viewer un-intrigued or frustrated respectively. The line of the wall is not straight and has been left as shot. I think this adds to the image's abstract qualities.

The photo may not be to everyone's taste, but if a viewer takes a second look and it evokes a response, then I am happy with that and it has at least achieved something.
