It is 20 years since the death of the hugely talented and legendary Kurt Cobain who committed suicide at his home aged 27 on 5 April 1994. We take a look back at archival photos with his band Nirvana and his wife Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean Cobain.

Who can forget the intensity of that incredible MTV Unplugged performance in November 1993?

Fans reminisce on the top of a fountain at Seattle Center during the playing of a Nirvana song at his memorial in April 1994. These fans are wet because they rushed the fountain when it was turned on and wouldn't leave, then stayed after it was turned off to remember Kurt Cobain in their own way.
